Job Title: Assistant Accountant, CIMA or ACCA qualified or part qualified
Location: Northwich, Cheshire
Salary: circa £30k depending on experience, +4% flexi salary benefits
Shift: Monday – Friday 0830-1700

Key Responsibilities:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based at the Head Office, Northwich. The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and analysis of accounting information to support the business.
Reporting directly in to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting. You will be interacting with various internal departments and preparing and analysing financial information, assisting in the future profitability and growth of a dynamic division, within a large and ambitious organisation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Generation of entity and Business Unit management reports
  • Extensive support to the Controller in the month-end close process
  • Manage the revenue cut-off and reporting processes
  • Manage rebate process
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Investigating queries and data production
  • Administration of cost reporting and analysis
  • Prepare accruals and prepayments
  • Ad-hoc indirect taxation and statutory returns
  • Maintenance and reporting of fixed asset ledger

You will be an experienced Assistant Accountant / Management Accountant who is looking to progress further in their career. Ideally you will be immediately available and have a strong background in finance.​

  • Ideal candidate must be AAT part or fully qualified or CIMA/ACCA PQ or QBE
  • Proficient with using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Previous experience of working within a busy accounts environment
  • Strong systems/processes background
  • Analytical and logical approach to problem solving
  • Good organisational and prioritisation skills
  • Developed interpersonal communication skills, possessing the ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels of the business
  • Self-motivated and ability to work unsupervised on own initiative
